Passion, innovation, and caring are Beck Technology’s core values. One of these is more important than the others when tragedy strikes.
Since we encourage everyone to bring their full selves to work, we recognize that sometimes it’s impossible to leave the personal at home. That’s when our core value of caring really steps in. Of course, we collaborate with each other to take on extra responsibilities when one of our team members must step back from work temporarily, but we also do what we can to support them outside of work.
It is our honor to support those organizations that support our team members when they need it. This month, through our Beck Tech Cares program, we gave to the Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House provides lodging and food to parents of children who are hospitalized. They also establish family rooms inside hospitals where families can eat, rest, and shower and operate a mobile medical unit for underserved communities.
Ronald McDonald House had a profound impact on Linda Dicus, Account Specialist at Beck Technology. She was chosen as our Beck Tech Cares nominee this month and picked Ronald McDonald to receive our charitable donation.
Linda says, “My granddaughter had a little boy born way too early that only survived one week. Prior to his passing they had arranged for her to stay there to be close to him. That was comforting to her because she was stressing over being released from the hospital and being so far away from him.”
Ronald McDonald House is present in 62 countries, serves 90% of the best children’s hospitals, and saves millions of dollars in food and lodging costs for families with hospitalized children.
Every month, Beck Technology gives back to our local and global communities that our team members feel passionately about. Our Beck Tech Cares program gives one Beck Tech employee a month the opportunity to choose a charitable organization in which we give a monetary donation.
As a demonstration of our core value of caring, Beck Tech team members are encouraged to publicly recognize each other through a virtual high-five system. Ranging from helping pick up work tasks when someone is struggling to simply leaning an ear, every day we are thanking each other through this system.
At the end of the month, the virtual high fives are read to each other, and one person is deemed the Beck Tech nominee of that month.
To date we have been afforded the chance to help support close to 80 organizations, which are as diverse as we are. It is just one small and humble way we can continue working towards making the world a better place.
