The Beck Group Selects DESTINI Estimator

National construction and architecture firm The Beck Group has selected DESTINI Estimator software to provide a comprehensive estimating platform for its estimators and team members through a three-year enterprise licensing agreement.

Beck Technology initially grew out of an internal, client-focused technology initiative at the design-build firm The Beck Group. Despite the historical connection between the two companies, The Beck Group conducted a comprehensive, year-long software exploration process to evaluate all options and identify the right software product for its estimating needs as well as focus on integrated project delivery. After thoroughly assessing multiple estimating platforms, The Beck Group chose the product that would best complement its existing preconstruction software, DESTINI Profiler, and give the company a powerful avenue to develop a comprehensive historical cost database.

“DESTINI Estimator shares its cost database software, Data Manager, with our current Macro BIM solution, DESTINI Profiler,” notes Jeff Ratcliff, director of preconstruction for The Beck Group. “The products in the DESTINI suite integrate seamlessly, so we will be able to easily transition a project from the earliest stage of conceptual design through the entire estimating process, capturing all cost data along the way to enable faster, more accurate estimating for projects. It’s the perfect fit for our integrated project delivery approach, in which we combine both architecture and construction services in a coordinated team effort.”

The three-year enterprise agreement covers the entire suite of DESTINI estimating products, including 30 Estimator licenses and 10 Profiler licenses. Brent Pilgrim, DESTINI applications director for The Beck Group, elaborated on how his firm selected DESTINI Estimator and their implementation approach in a webinar, “Implementing DESTINI Estimator in a Traditional Timberline Shop.”

“We are cutting down on the number of software programs needed to get the same results that the DESTINI suite is able to provide,” said The Beck Group’s CIO Bryce Morrow. “Less platforms means more confidence that the project data is right and not compromised by trying to import and export between the various applications. It is important that our employees have the right tools to do their jobs with the added benefit that DESTINI Estimator is intuitive.”

“We’re thrilled that The Beck Group has joined the growing number of AEC firms who have chosen to streamline their end-to-end estimating process with the DESTINI suite,” says Stewart Carroll, COO for Beck Technology. “With a single, centralized cost database and integrated estimating platform for the entire enterprise, The Beck Group and its clients will now have an even richer source of continuously-updated cost data to support effective decision-making.”

Developed with crowd-sourced input from estimators, features of the DESTINI Estimator platform include:

  • Full-featured, easy-to-use estimating functionality
  • Integrated 2D and 3D takeoff
  • Highly customizable, dashboard-based reporting
  • Estimate comparison views and Microsoft Excel imports

The Beck Group is a national construction and architecture company with revenue above $1 billion. Founded in 1912, the firm has offices in Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Fort Worth, Tampa, and Mexico City.
