A team of construction professionals reviewing building plans together

Better decisions build better projects.

The decisions made before construction begins shape project cost, risk, constructability, profitability, and ultimately the success of the building itself. Yet for decades, many preconstruction teams have been asked to make those decisions using disconnected tools, manual processes, and information scattered across spreadsheets, systems, and people.

Beck Technology was created to change that.

Since 1996, we’ve been focused on one idea: when contractors have better information and better tools during preconstruction, they can make better decisions—and better projects follow.

Today, we continue that mission by building technology that connects the people, processes, and data behind preconstruction.

Born From Construction.
Built to Improve It.

Beck Technology didn’t begin as a software company looking for a construction problem to solve.

It began inside the construction industry.

Founded in 1996 by Peter Beck III, a third-generation general contractor, Beck Technology grew from firsthand experience with the challenges contractors face when planning and pricing complex projects.

There had to be a better way.

A better way to understand the true cost of a building earlier.

A better way to evaluate options before they became expensive decisions.

A better way to capture what teams learned from one project and apply it to the next.

A better way for preconstruction professionals to spend less time assembling information and more time using their expertise to make informed decisions.

That pursuit has shaped Beck Technology for nearly three decades.

Preconstruction Deserves
Better Technology

Preconstruction has changed dramatically.

Projects are more complex. Owners expect greater cost certainty. Design decisions happen faster. Teams are being asked to evaluate more options with less time. And the amount of data available to contractors continues to grow.

But technology hasn’t always kept pace.

Critical information can still live across estimating applications, takeoff tools, bid systems, spreadsheets, shared drives, and individual experience. Valuable project history is often difficult to access. Decisions made during preconstruction can disappear once a project moves forward.

We believe preconstruction should work differently.

Technology should connect the work.

Data should become more valuable every time a team completes a project.

Information should move with the project instead of being recreated at every step.

Technology should strengthen the judgment of experienced preconstruction professionals, not attempt to replace it.

That belief continues to guide everything we build.

From Estimating Software to
Connected Preconstruction

  • Our work began with improving the estimating process.
  • But solving one part of preconstruction was never enough.
  • Over time, our customers helped us see a bigger opportunity: connect the workflows, information, and intelligence that preconstruction teams rely on every day.
  • That vision has evolved into DESTINI Cloud, Beck Technology’s connected preconstruction platform.
  • DESTINI Cloud brings estimating, takeoff, bid management, cost history, analytics, collaboration, and project information together so teams can work from a shared source of truth.
  • The goal isn’t simply to digitize existing processes.
  • It is to create a foundation where information can move across preconstruction, organizational knowledge can accumulate over time, and teams can make increasingly informed decisions from one project to the next.

A system of record for preconstruction today.

A foundation for greater intelligence tomorrow.

We Build With the People
Who Do the Work

We listen.

Some of our best ideas don’t begin in a conference room.

  • estimators
  • preconstruction managers
  • executives trying to create consistency across dozens of offices
  • teams working through bid day
  • customers asking, “Why does it have to work this way?”

Because meaningful innovation comes from understanding
the work before trying to change it.

Our customers have helped shape Beck Technology throughout our history. Their challenges influence our roadmap. Their feedback improves our products. Their ideas regularly become capabilities that benefit the broader preconstruction community.

That relationship is one of the reasons we think of our customers as more than software users. They are partners in where preconstruction goes next.
